I'd guess that 95% of car hires are starting from and ending in Addis. However, Bahir Dar has a decent size and infrastructure. You might be able to find a car and driver in Bahir Dar by going through the Gion Hotel (which I recommend, if you are travelling on a budget). Her grave is on teh remains of a Sabaean tmeple ca. 800 B.C.E. where incense burners were discovered in the late 1960's testifying to the presence tere of three queens of Sheba and Hebrew subjects. It's a good area to compare prices, as a couple of car hire companies are in the same area within walking distance. Check out Red Jackal, too. Had also good prices and decent cars & drivers, but didn't want to start the tour on a Sunday (the day we arrived in Addis).
